My sculptures are all done in earthenware clay. Depending on the subject, I generally add detail with many different materials, ranging from epoxy putty to wire to paper. I then paint them with acrylics for a final finish. Some have dynamic elements, like removable masks.

Anatomy Studies

Several of these were done under the guidance of Philippe Faraut, a professional sculptor of international renown. His work has been very influential to mine and is partially responsible for getting me into sculpture.

Animal Studies

Also done under Philippe Faraut’s guidance

This last one is the most complex and modular piece I have done, which required a removable multi-part mask. The sculpture was finished and fired beforehand, and the mask was made around it in several stages afterwards along with various other elements of the finished piece. One of the smaller sculptures above is a resculpt of this same character, done around one year later.

Experimentation

I always want to try new things to see if I can find a new technique to better my work, but sometimes an idea will take me in an entirely different direction. This little stop-motion animation is a product of one of those ideas. It does not have much of any connection to anything else on this site, but I believe it is representative of another part of my artistic merits, so to the bottom of the Sculpture section it goes.
